The black reflective material is sharp and crisp. It has a similar look to fire fiberglass.

Golf Monthly calls the Mizuno ST200 driver the most “underrated driver of 2020.” They did not list the Mizuno ST200x driver or the Mizuno ST200g driver in their Best Drivers of 2020 video because they had not tested it. Soon after, they realized it was overlooked. We have tested the Mizuno ST200 drivers, the standard, x series, and g series, and found them to be the most notable drivers released in 2020.

Mizuno ST200 Drivers Review

Mizuno released the ST200 driver series in February of 2020, including the Mizuno ST200 standard model, the Mizuno ST200x, and the Mizuno ST200g. The Mizuno ST200 drivers provide quality features contributing to its overall amazing performance at an affordable price. In comparison with similar quality drivers, such as the Cobra King LTDX or the TaylorMade Stealth Driver, the Mizuno ST200 drivers are nearly half the cost. If you are looking for the most affordable drivers, you can read our article on the best drivers for under 300 dollars.

Mizuno ST200 Drivers Review: It's Time to Become a Professional
Here are different models available that are all durable.

Overall performance and functions

Mizuno ST200 drivers are the highest performing drivers on the market for their value. You do not need to spend over 500 dollars to find a quality driver. Mizuno is a trustworthy brand in the golfing community and delivers superior products. The Mizuno ST200 series is designed for speed, stability, and control. If you are new to golf, it is an excellent beginner driver. You do not have to spend a lot of money to get quality. If you are interested in the best driver for beginners, you can read further in our article describing tested drivers!

The Mizuno ST200 series are also excellent drivers for the pro. They are built to last and for comfort. When you use an uncomfortable driver, it will set you up for failure every time you tee off.

Hand orientation

The Mizuno ST200 series offers both right- and left-handed driver options. You will not be limited to driving right-handed if you are left-handed. The versatility makes it a great option for any golf goer. You do not have to limit yourself on the course because you could not find a left- or right-handed version. The best left-handed driver for a mid-handicapped game level is the Mizuno ST200. If you want to know more about the best left-handed drivers, check our comprehensive guide.

Flex

Most driver manufacturers offer at least three shaft options. The MS200 series only offers one shaft option. Likewise, if you want a regular level flex, you must purchase the Diamana Red M+. On the other hand, if you want a stiff to no flex, you will buy the Diamana Blue S+. There are not any other options for golfers. However, the lack of flex options makes the Mizuno ST200 series more affordable. They do not have to pay for the production of various flex options.

Configuration

The Mizuno ST200 standard series cannot be adjusted. However, it has a fixed rear weight that offers more error room without causing an intense spin. It is the better model of the three for beginners. The Mizuno ST200g includes two adjustable weights on the sole. The weights can be adjusted to set the launch and spin. Lastly, the Mizuno ST200x promotes drawbacks with a lighter heel weight. It has a lighter shaft, promoting control and speed.

Material

The Mizuno ST200 series contain a beta-rich titanium face that meets all tour regulations. The ST200g and ST200x are composed of carbon composite crowns. Mizuno utilized a wave technology specifically engineered for greater ball speeds. In comparison to previous models, the Mizuno ST200 series is reported 17 percent stronger.

Sound and Feel

When you use any Mizuno ST200 driver in the series, you will hear a loud cracking noise when it contacts the ball. The grip on each driver is standard. You will find that it is not superior to other grips but does not lack substance.

Playability/Trajectory

As discussed previously, the shaft remains the same for all three of the Mizuno ST200 series. However, unlike the standard Mizuno ST200, you can adjust the weights on the Mizuno ST200x and the Mizuno ST200g. You will find adjusting the weights appropriately will allow for better playability and calculated trajectory.

You have more control with the Mizuno ST200 driver series. Unlike other known brands, this control allows for better play.

Shaft Options

The same shaft is used in all three of the Mizuno ST200 series. If you are looking for a different shaft in the ST200 standard, ST200x, or ST200g, you will not find what you are looking for in the Mizuno series. You will want to order custom-designed drivers or seek a different driver altogether.

With most drivers, you can purchase a variety of shaft options. The most disappointing feature of the MS200 series is that there is only one option.

Performance

A driver’s performance is based on one primary factor: ball speed. When the ball loses speed, your initial drive will fall short. Even when your stroke is mediocre, the best driver will provide maximum ball speed. The launch capability and the spin are two other sub-factors to consider when testing a driver. If you cannot launch a ball properly, it does not matter how fast it goes as it will hit an obstruction. A fastball that hits a hill or grass is devastating.

We found that the Mizuno ST100 does not maximize ball speed. It produces great ball speed but not superior ball speed. However, where it falls short on maximizing ball speed, it does produce excellent launch and spin.

While the Mizuno ST200 series does not produce superior ball speed, it still does maintain ball speed. If you are comparing it to previous models, it has greatly improved. You will be impressed. However, if you compare the driver to another driver that is three times its cost, you will notice the ball speed falls short.

Golf is a low-impact sport. It takes time, patience, and control. The Mizuno ST200 series offers excellent control performance. You can learn how to hit a fade or hit a fade easily with the Mizuno ST200 standard driver. If you are interested in learning more about how to hit a fade with a driver, you can read more about it in our article!

Durability and warranty

The Mizuno ST200 series is extremely durable. The product is known as “tour ready.” It will withstand the weather elements like wear, tear, pressure, and damage. You will not have to worry about the shaft snapping or a head falling off when you hit a ball. The material is impeccable. The graphite shaft and titanium-infused head will provide impeccable durability for years to come.

Optimized face thickness distribution to maximize COR area.

The Mizuno ST200 series often includes a warranty. If you buy the product used or through a third party like Rock Bottom Golf, Mizuno will not offer its manufacturer warranties. Other online shops will provide 30-day warranties on top of the manufacturer warranty. Mizuno products carry a limited warranty to the original purchaser. The warranty is not applied when you buy a Mizuno product from a third party. You can find more about Mizuno limited and express warranties on the package label or at their website here. Price tag

The Mizuno ST200 series is much more affordable than comparable drivers like the Cobra King LTDX or the TaylorMade Stealth Driver. The Cobra King LTDX or the TaylorMade Stealth Driver will cost you 400 to 1,200 dollars. On the other hand, a Mizuno ST200 series driver ranges from around 200 to 700 dollars. For hundreds of dollars less, you will receive a high-quality, durable, and trusted-brand product. It is important to remember that market demands and inflation may change the cost like all products. However, even during times of economic inflation, Mizuno is a trusted brand that delivers affordable products.

The cost also varies depending on the series driver and what store you attend to purchase your driver. A shirt can function as a shirt but does not mean it is the most stylish, durable, or long-lasting. The Mizuno ST200 series offers function, style, durability, and excellent control. The cost will vary depending on what series you buy and where you are the driver.

Key features

The Mizuno ST200 series includes three drivers: the Mizuno ST200 standard driver, the Mizuno ST200G driver, and the Mizuno ST200X driver.

The Mizuno ST200 standard driver has no adjustability options. The fixed weight rear allows for more flexibility and, therefore, lower levels of spin. It is highly durable and stable. With the Mizuno ST200 standard driver, you can drive straighter lines. If you need predictability, forgiveness, and control, the Mizuno ST200 standard driver is the best option.

The Mizuno ST200X has a fixed heel weight. Like the Mizuno ST200 standard driver, it offers less room for adjustability than the ST200G driver. This driver is designed for those with a fast draw.

The Mizuno ST200G has two weight adjustability racks. The adjustability allows for more room to alter the spin. It is a better driver for more advanced players because you can alter the spin. The spin can be altered from ultra-low to medium.

All three drivers in the series have impeccable launch capabilities. The launch is a key feature of any elite driver.

PROS CONS
  • Affordable
  • Durable
  • Titanium material

  • Spin
  • Three head styles
  • Great for new to advanced players
  • Carbon composite crowns
  • Only one shaft option

  • Not premium ball speed

ST200g Driver VS. ST200x Driver

The Mizuno ST200 series includes the Mizuno ST200 standard driver, the Mizuno ST200G driver, and the Mizuno ST200X driver. Before you choose a driver, you should consider what level you expect to play. The standard driver is a great option for all levels.

However, if you are an advanced player, you may want to consider the Mizuno ST200g driver. The Mizuno ST200G driver has two weight adjustable tracks. The adjustability is an excellent choice for advanced players to have more room to alter the spin. You can optimize spin from ultra-low spin to mid spin levels.

The Mizuno ST200X has a fixed heel weight. It offers less adjustability than the Mizuno ST200G. The Mizuno ST200X is often a better option for those who want a fast draw because of the upright lie angle. This model in the series also offers a higher launch.

Both the Mizuno ST200G and the Mizuno ST200X provide a low CG; this is because they both have carbon composite crowns. A low CG allows for a low spin with a high launch.

There are three head styles that are made available for the Mizuno ST200 driver series. The standard driver, the Mizuno ST200, offers more forgiveness. It is designed for all play styles, beginner to advanced.

Conclusion

The Mizuno ST200 series offers excellent performance, durability, and control. It has excellent but not premium ball speed. However, the launch and spin capabilities work to maximize the ball speed. It is great for new to advanced players. As seen in our Mizuno ST200 drivers review, the product truly lives up to Mizuno’s marketing of “tour ready.”
