David Higgins wins the Killarney Golf & Fishing Club Pro Am

The winning Professional was David Higgins (-2) Waterville Golf Links, who had scored 71 on both courses (142). On receiving his prize, David spoke of the strong relationship between Waterville and Killarney, and the support Killarney has given him in his career. "I would like to thank everyone at Killarney for always being so welcoming to me every time I play here. It was such a pleasure to play on such fine courses and the last two days have been some of the most enjoyable golf I have played in ages."

In Second place was John Dwyer (+2) from Ashbourne Golf Club who recorded a score of 73 on both courses (146). Three professionals were in Joint Third Position, Damien Mooney (Nevada Bobs, Belfast), Gavin Lunny (Naas Golf Club) and Geoff Loughrey (Roganstown) who all recorded a score of 147 over the two days.

In the team event Jim O'Flynn (8), Ger Hannor (15) and Ger Galvin (10) from Newmarket in Cork came in First Place, playing with Martin Sludds from Enniscorthy Golf Club. Receiving their prizes, Jim O'Flynn spoke on behalf of the team "It was such a pleasurable two days of golf playing on Killeen and Lackabane. I first played Lackabane when it was first opened and now to come back 7 years later it was astounding to see what a quality course it has developed into. The course is a tribute to Course Manager Dave MacIndoe and his team."

In Second Place was Damian Wallace (6), Anthony O'Connell (9) and Finbar Buckley (13) from Cork City, playing with Lee Owens from Elm Park Golf Club.
