Award Winning Pro joins Team at Killarney

Today marks another change at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, with the introduction of David Keating, the new Club Pro who takes over from Tony Coveney who was based at the Club for the past 40 years. So an end to another era at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club and the beginning of another!

Killarney Goes High Tech!

Whether a beginner, mid handicap amateur or professional golfer, one thing the best golf coaches agree on is that golfers will never play to their full potential unless equipment that has been customised to the golfer’s own particular swing requirements is used. A Golf Coach who feels very strongly about this and is one of the leading figures in Ireland on the subject is David Keating, Killarney Golf & Fishing Club’s newly appointed Golf Professional. Since his appointment in January of this year, over €.5 million has been invested in the Club’s Professional facilities. This investment includes a State of the Art Customised Fitting and Swing Room, one of the most high tech of its type in Ireland.

New Pro Shop Opens at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club

The Killarney Golf & Fishing Club’s new Pro Shop opened its doors for the first time last weekend. With an investment of €500,000 the new 2,700 sq ft Shop is located directly beneath the Club Bar and has panoramic views of the lakes as well as breathtaking views of the 18th Green on Killeen.

Killarney Golf & Fishing Club Pro Am

Following on from the successful inaugural event last year, dates have just been announced for this year’s Killarney Golf & Fishing Club Pro Am, which is being organised by the Club and sponsored by Seamus Weldon, John Deere Dealers for Munster. The 36 Hole competition will take place on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd July 2008 on two of the three Championship Courses at the Club, Killeen and Lackabane.

Celebrating the great Tradition of Golfing in Ireland

Fifty Golf Societies from all corners of Ireland enjoyed a wonderful day of golf in Killarney on Monday 28th July for the second annual All Ireland Golf Societies Challenge Cup, which was organised jointly by the Irish Examiner and Killarney Golf & Fishing Club.
